My Cars - Past & Present
This section is devoted to one of my many hobbies - cars. I love driving. I got off to a late start with driving, and started when I was 18. All of my friends were older and had cars, so I didn't really rush into it.
First Car: I bought brand new in 97. It was a 98 Nissan Maxima GXE, Automatic, tan interior, Forest Green exterior, and seven miles on the ticker. I drove it for nine months, and managed to put over fourty-thousand miles on it! I looked at it as my "training wheels" car.
Second Car: After those nine months, I went back to the dealer I bought it from, and ended up trading it in for a 1994 Pontiac Firebird Formula. It had 85k miles on it, an automatic transmission, and boy did it look sweet.. I fell in love with it. I kept that car for about two years, and in that time I received some tickets with it, and my insurance sky-rocketed. Needless to say I was a dumb teenager with a fast, loud, red car, and that's not the best thing to have when you don't want tickets. On the night of Friday the 2nd of November, 2001, I got into an accident with an old man. His fault. He wasn't looking where he was going, and turned in front of me about fifteen feet down the road.. Booom. I ended up making a couple thousand on the deal though, and no one got hurt, so all was well.
Third Car: I was in the market for car number three at that time. In December of 2001 I bought a five speed 1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. I figured a four cylinder would be easier on insurance, and it was. Though this was no average four cylinder. This was a two liter turbo charged all wheel drive car. Stock from the factory it came with 210hp. Over the two years or so that I modded it, I bumped the power up about 100 more horsies. Bigger turbo, intake and exhaust pipes, boost control, etc. It was a REAL fun car. It was very reliable, and never let me down. It held it's own too. It was faster than most cars on the road. And the sound of the turbo spooling with the windows down and the sunroof back was just mesmerising.. I loved it. I just sold the car though, and again, it's time to move on. I was very sad to see it go.
Fourth Car: New dog in town! I decided that after three years of not getting a single ticket (**Taking a bow**) that I would attempt to go back to my muscle car roots. A quick call to the insurance company showed that insurance on another muscle car would be $50.00 less monthly then the 4 cylinder! This was a sweet suprise. I picked up a 1996 Camaro Z28. It's silver, with T-Tops, six-speed transmission, power everything, and loaded!
Fifth and current Car: SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND! Back in the DSM Scene!! Meet "White Devil"!! He's a 1991 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. YES! Another one! Only this one is a little older, and it's hopped up on car-crack :) Check it out..
