07/20/03 PA-28 Warrior HVN/HVN 1.3 First Solo! Man.. What a rush. While solo, did two touch & goes, and one full stop. Awesome. The feeling of being up there all by yourself is amazing. PICTURE
07/26/03 PA-28 Warrior HVN/HVN 1.3 Second solo! This time went out away from the airport. Flew about 10 miles to the east of the airport, and came back. Also, I saw something I've never seen before. I saw a big Hawk about 50 feet below me. Then I realized, I've never looked down and seen a hawk flying. Pretty cool.
08/24/03 PA-28 Warrior HVN-POU-HVN 1.4 First Cross Country! This was a good time. I was only a few minutes off with my planning and checkpoints. We landed at Poughkeepsie, then went on our way back to New Haven. The wind was gusting to 20kts, and was really bumpy. I had a lot of fun, and saw some cool scenery.
08/31/03 PA-28 Warrior HVN/HVN 0.8 Short & Soft field take off's and landings, short approach. 7 take off's, 7 landings.
09/07/03 PA-28 Warrior HVN/HVN 0.8 Third Solo. Just went to the East of the airport, and flew around for a while. This was an awesome experience. Took a few pictures too while I was up! Click HERE to see the pics.
09/20/03 PA-28 Warrior HVN-BDL-HVN 1.4 Flew into Bradley International today. It's a Class C airport and it was very interesting to see how it all worked. Learned new stuff like Clearence Delivery and Flight Following. Very cool stuff. Can't wait to do some more.
10/05/03 PA-28 Warrior HVN-5B3-I3D-HVN 1.5 Cross country flight to Danielson, CT. Had to do a Diversion to Windham due to parachute jumpers over 5B3. Tried communicating with pilot of parachute plane, but to no avail. Didn't want to stick around and fly blind, so we went to Windham instead.
12/29/03 PA-28 Warrior HVN-HVN 0.9 FINALLY got to fly again. The holidays and everything prety much put a damper on things, but I'm back in action. My New Year's resolution is to get this license taken care of. We went over some steep turning and stalls, and did 3 night landings.

01/10/04 PA-28 Warrior HVN-MMK-HVN 1.1 Non-Towered airport procedures. Flew to Meridan and did a few landings and take off's, and learned how to enter patterns in non-towered fields.
01/11/04 PA-28 Warrior HVN/HVN 0.2 Did one take off, and one landing. Had to cut the flight short due to a vaccuum problem on the airplane.
01/24/04 PA-28 Warrior HVN/HVN 1.1 Started instrument training. Did constant airspeed climbs and decents, turns to heading, and recovery from unusual attitudes. One hour was spent flying instrument.
02/29/04 PA-28 Warrior HVN/HVN 1.0 More instrument training. Did some VOR tracking, and NDB tracking. Also practices short & soft field take off's and landings. Had .7 hours of instrument flying.
03/20/04 PA-28 Warrior HVN-ORH-HVN 2.1 Did a cross country flight to Worcester Mass. Longest CC so far - about 125nm round trip. Also practiced radar services and flight following, inflight weather, VOR tracking, and .8 hours of instrument flying.
04/07/04 PA-28 Warrior HVN/HVN 0.9 Night practice. Did 7 take offs, and 7 landings. What's weird is the fact that the runway itself is not lit up - just the border.. Looks like you're landing in a big black hole. Crazy.
